Delicious Crawfish Boil
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp peppercorns
- 2 tbsp whole cloves
- 1 tbsp five spice
- 1-pound salt
- 5 gallons of water
- 4 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- 6 pcs dried bay leaves
- 10 pounds live crawfish
- 2 pounds sweet potatoes
- 2 pounds sweet corn
- 2 pounds Chorizo
- 2 cups white wine
Instructions
- Place peppercorn, cloves, five-spice, paprika in a spice grinder and grind for 15 seconds.
- Fill a pot with water and add the ground spices, salt, onion powder, oregano, white wine, and bay leaves. Cover and bring to a boil.
- Rinse the crawfish with cold water and repeat the rinsing process five times.
- Once the seasoned water comes to boil, add the sweet potatoes, sweet corn, and chorizo. Cover and cook for 15 minutes.
- Add the crawfish, cover and cook for 3 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and let it remain covered for another 10 minutes before draining well and serving.
