Wine Pairing
A soul-soothing bowl of delicious homemade vegetable soup, perfect for a luncheon-style family meal. This is the best soup recipe with a tasty pork stock that is worth a try. Soup and bread are the most classic flavor pairings.
According to foodtimeline.org, “Food historians tell us the history of soup is probably as old as the history of cooking. The act of combining various ingredients in a large pot to create a nutritious, filling, easily digested, simple to make/serve food was inevitable.”
If you don’t have celeriac, you can add celery to add flavor to the stock. Aromatics such as rosemary, cloves, parsley stems, and bay leaf would all be a great ideas. They would enhance the flavor of the pork stock. Roasted onions (with the skins) and garlic would also be nice. Since you’re straining the stock, these bits will be removed before serving.
Serve this steaming bowl of vegetable soup with ham biscuits or crusty french bread for a great food pairing.
